Why One Less Car ?

Living in a healthy environment is one of the factors to guarantee the human health. Unfortunately, some people unconsciously or even consciously pollute their living environment. Modern urban life requires too much speed which it causes too much use of private cars in cities. Nowadays, cars are the most important sources of the air pollution.

Abundant advertising of car companies, lack of cultural infrastructure of efficient use of cars and, most importantly, indolence and selfishness of human beings make people greedy to buy and use their own cars. The incidence of serious diseases such as cancer, heart and lung problems, physical disability and the most common of all, obesity, are the most important outcomes of continuous use of private cars.

Solving this problem requires everyone’s desire in communities as well as cultural infrastructure by governments, related organizations and definitely compassionate and interested people in caring for the environment.

One less car; a mission to protect the environment

Urban difficult life has taken the time and patience of people to hear long speeches. With regards to my awareness of this issue and live in one of the most polluted and heavily trafficked cities in the world, every day, I think about a simple way to remember the importance of environmental protection to others.

My interest in traveling by bicycle got acquainted me with a short slogan; "One less car"

The philosophy of this short slogan will influence on the minds of the listeners and definitely it will be effective over time. Remember, we do not want the listeners not to use their own private cars. But that’s enough to use clean vehicles such as bicycle and public transportation; city bus, subway, taxi and etc. Or walk short distances for their urban mission trips. And use their own private cars for suburban trips and emergency cases.

All you respectable friends and readers can also do the slogan "One less car" as an independent media and express its philosophy to others, take an important step in the protection of the environment and institutionalizing this environmental culture.
